How To Make Chicken Over Rice? This delicious dish is characterized by the fact that the rice is grainy and the chicken pieces are prepared with a delicious sauce or marinade.

Ingredients:

For Chicken Marinade:

  • 4 chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 or 2 cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

For Pilaf:

  • 2 cups long-grain rice
  • 3 cups chicken broth or water
  • 2 tablespoons butter or vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

Marinating the Chicken:

  1. Rinse and clean the chicken thighs or breasts thoroughly.
  2. In a bowl, combine yogurt, vegetable oil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Adjust spice levels according to your preference.
  3. Dip the chicken pieces into the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. For optimal flavor, refrigerate the marinated chicken for at least 1-2 hours, preferably overnight.

Preparing the Pilaf:

  1. Rinse the rice until the water runs clear. Drain excess water.
  2. In a pot, melt butter or heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the rice and sauté until the grains are translucent.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth or water, add a pinch of salt, and stir well.
  4. Add the hot water, stir, and cover the pot. Allow the rice to cook over low heat until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender.

Cooking the Chicken:

  1. While the pilaf is cooking, heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Grill the marinated chicken pieces until they are fully cooked and have a nice golden-brown color. Ensure the internal temperature of the chicken reaches a safe level.
  3. Remove the grilled chicken from heat and set it aside.

Assembling the Dish:

  1. Once the pilaf is ready, fluff the rice with a fork to ensure it’s light and fluffy.
  2. Transfer the pilaf to a serving platter or individual plates.
  3. Arrange the grilled chicken pieces on top of the pilaf.
  4. Optionally, garnish with fresh herbs, lemon wedges, or pickles for added flavor.
  5. Serve the Pilaf with Chicken hot, and enjoy!
